Shorter to hold Fall Fest Event

The Town of Shorter continues it busy pace of activity with the announcement of the upcoming Shorter Fall Fest event.  The event is an annual activity and is set to occur on Saturday, November 8 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the lawn at the Shorter Municipal Center.

Shorter Fall Fest is expected to draw hundreds of participants and is one of several free vendor events sponsored by the Town of Shorter each year.  The effort is a worthy one as it is designed to encourage a greater sense of entrepreneurship and community among area citizens.

The Fall Fest will feature games, music and a community yard sale.  Health professionals from Community Hospital of Tallassee will also be on hand providing free health screenings and appointment scheduling for those in need of health services.  There is no charge for vendor space or yard sale participation.  There will also be a live DJ on hand providing music entertainment for those in attendance.

Shorter Community Development Director Alan Ingram is the lead organizer for the activity and can be contacted at 334-727-9190 ext. 103 to register or obtain additional information.  He may also be reached by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  Prior registration is not required, but strongly encouraged. The event is expected to draw hundreds of attendees and quality vendors selling food and wares to interested buyers.

Several groups will be on hand providing food and items for sale in an effort to raise funds to support charitable and community related activities.  I also plan to support the activity by offering up one of my favorite dishes for sale for hungry attendees.  Please make plans to attend and bring some money to spend as opportunities for bargains will be available.  I look forward to seeing you there!
